Delaware!

I don't know if you know this, but Delaware is the first State of the United States. This is where I have spent all my vacation time as a young person. My parents, my sister and I went there every summer for some fun the in sun- in Delaware, the waves are big, the sand is silky-smooth and the sun shines almost all the time. We had the best vacation time there and I have kept great memories of the place. This year, for the first time in 12 years (or is it 13?14?15?), I went back to Delaware. I am happy to report that nothing much has changed, which is nice. The Cape Henlopen State Park, where we have always stayed, is the same as before. Lewes, the first town of the United States, is as charming as before, with its grandiose houses turned into cute and cozy (but expensive) cafés and restaurants. Rehoboth Beach, with its boardwalk, games and rides, is as loud and busy as when we were kids. We had a great time, and it was wonderful to be back there, this time with R.

Stormy weather!

I know, I know, it has been ages since my last post. I have no good excuses, so I won't try to make up any.
This week has been the hottest week ever- literally! I have never sweated as much as in the last few days. The simple action of getting up from bed starts the pearls of sweat forming on my forehead. Sleeping is difficult, breathing is not easy, and any activity is forbidden. It is supposed to rain today, with high probability of thundershowers. It's going to be a cracking evening! Maybe the skies will look like this:
